New chapter opens for training specialist following major investment
A specialist group of training companies is on the path to
further growth, thanks to a major new investment.
Fund management company FW Capital has invested £750,000 in PTM
Group, whose companies deliver vocational training through
government funded apprenticeships and traineeships, alongside
higher level taught qualifications for upskilling and
FW Capital was supported on the deal by Newcastle-headquartered
law firm Watson Burton, which managed the legal aspects of the
project and provided advice on the investment documentation. The
Watson Burton team was led by corporate specialist Paul Wigham,
partner at the firm.
PTM Group, which is based in Newcastle upon Tyne, is one of the
fastest growing businesses in its sector, with record growth year
on year for the past three years and revenue expected to surpass
£10 million in the next 18 months.
The investment from FW Capital will help the business to grow
through the employment of new staff and the expansion of its
PTM Group includes: NCT Skills, which provides apprentices to
employers in the construction sector; 180 Training, which focuses
on engaging with adults who want to re-train; Winnovation Training,
which offers more than 100 social care and health courses; The
JEF-CEP, a Joint Enterprise between the British Army & NCT
Skills For Life which delivers an introduction to the construction
industry; and The Academy of Sound and Vision, which provides
opportunities for young people in music event logistics.

the North East, has significant experience of supporting funders on
major investments, and has worked with FW Capital for more than
