Use BIBA's as a springboard
The finalists at one of Lancashire’s most prestigious business
awards have been urged to shout about their success.
Andy Traynor, of FW Capital which manages one of the North
West’s biggest growth capital funds, said those firms through the
finals of the Be Inspired Business Awards needed to consider how to
use their success to promote themselves.
The fund management firm manages the £45m North West Fund for
Loans Plus which provides loans to back growth-hungry businesses in
the region, and has signed up to be social media sponsor for the
awards, known as The BIBAs.
A total of 19 prizes will be handed out to firms from across the
county at a ceremony held at the Blackpool Tower in September
following two rounds of judging.
Andy Traynor said: “To have been through two rounds of scrutiny
by the BIBAs judges and made it to the finals is enough to show a
very good business.
“Having been involved in the judging for the first time this
year, I was impressed by the level of scrutiny which went in to
selecting the nominees.
“Now it is the job of these businesses to use this as a
springboard to tell the world about what makes them great and how
this has been recognised by the BIBAs judges.
“Social media is an effective way of being able to communicate
with a lot of people, quickly and effectively.”
FW Capital will be among the audience of leading members of the
region’s business community at the BIBAs’ prize-giving ceremony in
just under two months’ time.
Babs Murphy, chief executive of awards’ organisers, the North
and Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce, confirmed the awards
were now a complete sell-out.
She said: “The BIBAs has always been an event which dominates
the calendar for Lancashire’s business community and the fact we
have all but sold out with more than two months to go until the
ceremony only underlines this.
“Unfortunately, it means we have now had to start a waiting list
for those people who are not finalists but would like to
