Longhorns continues expansion with six figure investment

Newcastle-upon-Tyne headquartered independent restaurant chain, Longhorns BBQ Smokehouse is expanding its central smokehouse kitchen in Ouseburn thanks to a six figure investment from the North East Growth Plus Fund managed by FW Capital.

The group now has restaurants in Newcastle city centre and Jesmond and operates several venues in partnership with Camerons Brewery across the North from Tynemouth to Leeds.

The funding has allowed Longhorns to expand its central smokehouse to meet the growing demand for its popular authentic Texan barbecue dishes. The business now employs over 50 staff and has already achieved over a £1million annual turnover in its first two years of operation.

Co-founder and Managing Director of Longhorns Michael Dixon said, “We’re passionate about providing high-quality Texan-style barbecue food and an authentic experience. Following the success of our Newcastle restaurants we reached an agreement with Camerons Brewery group to supply them. Thanks to the support we’ve had from the FW Capital team we’ve been able to expand our central smokehouse to meet this increased demand and take on more North East staff.”

“Longhorns is an exciting company with high brand value and very strong growth prospects,” explained FW Capital Senior Investment Executive Michael Vassallo. “Customer feedback has been great and they have a really strong management team in place.”

Longhorns continues to grow and is launching a new menu and has plans to open more venues later this year.
