FW Capital strengthens its North West team with the appointment of new Investment Executive, Loz O’Connor

FW Capital, which manages The North West Fund for Loans Plus, has strengthened its North West team, appointing former senior banker, Loz O’Connor as an Investment Executive.

Manchester-based Loz has considerable SME lending experience and will work with SMEs throughout the North West on a range of growth funding requirements.

Prior to joining FW Capital, Loz spent over 35 years at RBS in senior corporate relationship management and business development roles.

He has previously structured funding packages to back owner-occupier property purchases and asset/equipment purchases as well as working capital requirements.

“Loans from The North West Fund for Loans Plus continue to provide established small and medium-sized businesses in the region with the financial firepower they need to get their growth plans off the ground.

“FW Capital is now firmly established in the North West.  Its flexible approach together with its reputation for backing SMEs with true growth potential is impressive.  I’m keen to ensure that more SMEs benefit from what FW Capital can offer in 2015,” Loz explained.

Welcoming Loz to his team, Gary Guest, FW Capital’s Fund Manager in the North West said: “We have lent over £30 million to 145 businesses since launch, helping to create or safeguard 1,700 jobs. 2015 promises to be a crucial year as the Fund closes on 31st December and we have over £11 million available for Merseyside businesses and £4m available for businesses in Greater Manchester, Cheshire, Lancashire and Cumbria

“Loans from The North West Fund for Loans Plus continue to play an important role in increasing the region’s prosperity. Loz will have a pivotal role in ramping up our lending activity to ensure we maximise its overall impact.”

The North West Fund for Loans Plus is part of The North West Fund which is financed by the European Regional Development Fund and the European Investment Bank.

As fund managers, FW Capital works with banks and other funders on a wide range of requirements.  The flexible lending criteria available from The North West Fund for Loans Plus means FW Capital can consider cash flow loans and not simply accept or reject on the basis of available security.
