Gary Guest joins FW Capital as Fund Manager

Fund management company, FW Capital has appointed Gary Guest as fund manager for the £35 million North West Fund for Business Loans, which is part of the recently-launched £184.8 million North West Fund. Guest will lead FW Capital’s team based in Liverpool, Manchester and Preston.

The North West Fund for Business Loans makes debt investments of between £50,000 and £250,000 in viable small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) based in the North West of England.

Commenting on the appointment, investment director, Peter Wright said: “This is a very exciting time for businesses in the North West and for FW Capital. The North West Fund is excellent news and I’m pleased to welcome Gary to lead FW Capital’s team in the North West. Gary is an experienced investment professional with a strong track record of investing in small and medium-sized businesses.”

A former relationship director with Santander in Manchester, Guest has worked with SMEs in the North West for a number of years.

Manchester-based Guest will now use his extensive experience to work with businesses to structure the right debt investment packages.

FW Capital is part of the Finance Wales Group, one of the UK’s largest SME investment companies. The Finance Wales Group manages funds of more than £335 million and has invested over £183 million. It invested a record £37 million in SMEs in the 2009-10 financial year through 246 equity and debt investments.
