Gavin Cowling joins FW Capital's North West Fund for Loans’ Team
FW Capital, the company which manages The North West Fund’s
£35m Business Loans Fund has appointed Gavin Cowling as Senior
Investment Executive, further strengthening its investment team in
the North West.
The Liverpool and Manchester-based team is led by Fund Manager,
Gary Guest. Cowling joins Investment Executive, Philip Hargreaves
in Manchester, while Senior Investment Executive, Simon Berry and
Investment Executive, Carol Bolland are based in Liverpool.
Cowling has 30 years’ business banking experience and has
previously held business development roles at Barclays, Alliance
and Leicester and RBS.
The North West Fund is a £185m evergreen fund financed by the
European Regional Development Fund and the European Investment Bank
Recent FW Capital investments from the North West Fund for
Business Loans include Tuff X Processed Glass and Totalpost
Services, with more applications in the pipeline.
Commenting on the appointment, Fund Manager, Gary Guest said:
“Gavin is a well-known and respected lender in the Manchester area.
We’re delighted he’s on board and sharing his considerable lending
expertise. We now have a highly-skilled team with a great deal of
knowledge of deal structuring.”
Manchester-based Cowling will now use his lending expertise to
structure the right debt investments to help businesses in the
North West grow.

FW Capital manages the £35 million Fund, which makes loans of
between £50,000 and £250,000 to viable small and medium-sized
businesses (SMEs) based in the North West of England.
